What is PASSWORD GUESSING?

• Very common an easy to execute
• Not very effective
• Mid threat level

Password guessing is probably one of the most common password cracking techniques prevalent on the internet. In this method, the attackers first gather as much personal information about the victim as possible. Once such personal information about the victim has been gathered, the attacker then tries to guess the password by truing various combinations of different names and numbers. Some of the most common passwords that an attacker usually tries are

·         Loved one’s name + birthdates / phone number etc.

·         Victim’s name + birthdates/ phone number etc.
